The eastern margin is a convergent boundary subduction zone under the South American Plate and the Andes Mountains, forming the Peru–Chile Trench. The southern side is a divergentboundary with the Antarctic Plate, the Chile Rise, where seafloor spreading permits magma to rise.

Answer:

Divergent plate motion

Step-by-step explanation:

The Nazca plate represents the eastern side of the great Pacific ocean. It is separating from the Pacific thereby moving further eastward colliding with the South American plate, forming the Andes mountains. During its motion, it has moved over many mantle plumes as a result of which volcanoes were formed.

But, Nazca and Pacific plate shares a divergent plate boundary, separating the two plates, marked by the presence of a mid oceanic ridge. In addition to this, it also shares transform plate boundary at some places along the mid oceanic ridge. The deep focus earthquakes are generated in and around this region.
