I believe the answer is: A-Straight-ticket voting is now nearly universal
Straight ticket voting gives voters with the capability to choose a party's entire candidates with just a single ballot mark.
In the past, only candidates are given the option for a straight ticket voting, but in mid 20th century it become universal.
