A pet shop has 96 pounds of dog food. It packages the food in 48-ounce bags.

Quantity of dog food pet shop has = 96 pounds.

Quantity of dog food in one bag = 48 ounces.

So in order to find number of bags we have to first convert them into similar units.

Let us convert pounds into ounces.

The conversion rate is:

1 pound = 16 ounces

Now we apply unitary method to convert 96 pounds into ounces.

1 pound =16 ounces

96 pounds = 96*16 = 1536 ounces.

So if one bag contains 48 ounces ,

then number of bags = 1536/48 = 32

Answer : Number of 48 ounce bags required to fill 96 pounds of dog food is 32.
