How does cellular respiration impact the observed rate of photosynthesis on algae beads?

Not quite sure I understood it right or wrong, but I believe that if you provide an organism that does cellular respiration in water, it will produce CO2, thus increasing the photosynthesis rate as more CO2 is provided, that is all under a controlled experiment only CO2 rate is changed in, to observe the difference.
