The total number of moles of ion that will be formed is calculated as follows

the ionic equation for dissociation of NaOh

NaOH = Na+ + OH-

the reacting ratio of dissociation of NaOH is 1:1 therefore if 3 moles of NaOH used then the moles of Na+ is 3 moles and even the moles of OH- is moles

total moles is therefore= 3 moles +3 moles = 6 moles
