The line from "The Railroad Earth", that best illustrates the influence of jazz music on Jack Kerouac's style is long before I was born the reading rooms tick tock bigclock with creak chair and slantboards. Jack Kerouac was greatly influenced by cultural changes at his time, especially the rising of jazz music. He wrote continually without editing about his experiences looking for meaning, turning jazz cadences into complex sentence structure.
