Juan de Onate was one of the conqustadors that set their food on America around 1600. He did many expeditions to the inland, but he failed to find gold, despite battling some native tribes. He found fertile land too, but this was not enough. Hence, the correct answer is II. He later was put under trial for his failures and his excessive force against American Indians.
