The refrigerated urine specimen must be bring back to room temperature before processing or testing them to prevent affects to the physical characteristic of urine. Moreover, refrigeration of the sample urine is done to preserve the urine if testing is not yet possible and to prevent bacterial growth of the specimen for 24 hours.
