The correct answer is option (B) plasma - transports wastes and hormones.

Blood is the circulating body fluid in humans and animals. It helps in the transport of nutrients, oxygen and waste substances. It is made up of the cellular components called the red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC) and the platelets. The fluid component of it is called the plasma.

The red blood cells or the erythrocytes help in the delivery of oxygen to the body cells and collect carbon dioxide back from them by the presence of the pigment called the hemoglobin. The white blood cells or the leucocytes are the cells of the immune system actively fighting against diseases and foreign substances. The platelets or the thrombocytes are the cells involved in the process of blood clotting.

Blood plasma is the fluid component of the blood made up of water, dissolved proteins, electrolytes, glucose, hormones and others. It is involved in the transport of various substances in the body including the nutrients, proteins and hormones and bringing waste products to the kidney and liver.
