Joe was angry because William ate the rest of the remaining Chinese food.

What is the BEST way to describe the problem in the above sentence?

A) The sentence is redundant; it is unnecessarily repetitive.

B) Chinese should not be capitalized in this sentence.

C) The verb tense does not remain consistent throughout the sentence.

I would say it is redundant. Since it says "ate the 'rest' of the 'remaining' Chinese food. Since the words, rest and remaining mean the same thing. So letter A.

Answer: A) The sentence is redundant; it is unnecessarily repetitive

Explanation: The unnecessarily repetition is the main problem found in the sentence. The reason is that saying "the rest of the remaining" is redundant since both words (rest and remaining) have the same meaning in this context.

Option B is incorrect because nationalities are capitalized.

Option C is incorrect because the past simple tense remains consistent during the whole sentence.
