Ventricular hypertrophy is the dominant feature of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Ventricular hypertrophy is a state in which ventricular (ventricular is the chamber of the heart) walls are thickened. Ventricular hypertrophy can be a result of primary defects of the myocardium and that directly causes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In this condition, heart is less able to pump blood effectively.
