What does driving represent to Saudi women? Why is it “a kind of Alamo” to supporters of the ban?

it represents freedom, they do not get to do everyday things, like you and I, gives them a sense of entitlement.

Driving is seen as an Alamo of sorts because women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed many rights and driving is one of the exceptions as they are allowed to drive. This can be related to the Alamo in the sense that Texas wanted it's independence from Mexico, the same as the women of Saudi Arabia wanting more rights in their country.
