When evaluating characters on a tree, every synapomorphy is also an symplesiomorphy ( or will become an symplesiomorphy in the future) why?

A synapomorphy refers to one specific characteristic of an ancentral species while a symplesiomorphy is the overall traits of the ancentral species (would include many characteristics)
Because of this, we could say that a synapomorphy is just a subgroup of a symplesiomorphy
