Emilio Aguinaldo became upset that the United States did not leave the Philippines following the Spanish-American war. He had become the leader of a revolutionary outburst in 1896-1897 that had ended in a truce. He is Filipino general who played an important role in the Philippine Revolution against Spain, and later led Filipino insurgent soldiers against American forces. In 1898, the United States supported Filipino General Emilio Aguinaldo in his efforts against the Spanish colonial government.
