Nucleic acid are bio polymers or small biomolecules, which is essential for all the living forms on earth. Nucleic acids can be defined as nucleotides which are monomers made of 5 carbon sugar, a nitrogenous base and a phosphate group.

If the sugar is ribose sugar then the polymer is ribonucleic acid and if the polymer is deoxy ribose sugar then the molecule is Deoxyribo nucleic acid.

The nitrogenous bases consists of adenine, guanine, thiamine and cytosine.
