Gertrude thinks Ophelia was deeply hurt .Her death was caused by the abandonement of the men she loved and respected.Those were her father, who died in the hands of her lover ,in the first place and the death of the love of Hamlet for her.For Gertrude this loss, that of Ophelia is due to romantic reasons.
