The answer is x=25.
If you substitute x with 25, 25*4=100.
Also, 75+25=100.
x=25.

If you're solving the equation 4x = 75 + x simply subtract "x" from both sides of the equation leaving you with the equivalent equation, 3x = 75 Now here we can see by inspection that 3(25) = 75... therefore x = 25
