Lewis and Clark explored the Louisiana purchase. They discovered new Animals such as the Bison. They meet many different people and learned about many different cultures.

Louis and Clark are known for leading a famous expedition. At the request of Thomas Jefferson, they led an expedition to survey the land West of Mississippi, also known as the Louisiana Territory.The expedition was so important because it raced the British and the Spanish to claim the West. Also if the other nations claimed the territory first, then the U.S. could not spread out and may not survive.
