The war production office was established to oversee and control USA total war effort during ww2. it was established in 1942. it was established by USA president Roosevelt.
It was aimed at streamlining production with war needs. its effect was widely felt. Textiles companies were converted to produce war related wears such as parachutess. It ended shortly after the defeat of Japan.
