When the number of people working outside the home decreases, the measured GDP decreases. GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product. It is the market value of all final goods and services from a nation in a given year. In a situation in which people are leaving their homes (country) this means that the value of all goods and services will decrease, which means the GDP will decrease.
