The Nuremberg Trials were a significant event in world history, as members of the Nazi party who were responsible for the systematic killing of European Jews were found guilty and ultimately sent to death.

This trial, conducted by members of the Allied powers, set a huge precedent for the world. After this trial, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was created. This stated that all humans around the world are guaranteed certain rights. Along with this, the United Nations Genocide Convention was developed. This helped to bring justice to those groups who committed atrocities all over the world. This body would be used to bring criminals who committed genocide to justice and became active after 1951.
