The most common drug that causes drug-induced hepatitis is Paracetamol (in other countries, Acetaminophen). Paracetamol overdose overwhelms the liver's drug detoxifying capacity and produces a toxic metabolite N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine or NAPQI which is responsible for the hepatitis.
