The Gold Rush had affected a lot of indigenous people living in California, wherein indigenous people were pushed off their lands and were attacked by gold hunters or also known by the term "forty-niners". The term originated from the year that the gold rush had happened. After the gold rush, the population of California rose, and diseases, genocide and starvation had decreased.
