Hamlet "acts crazy" even before he tells his friends that he may "put an antic disposition on." true or false?

True.
He is genuinely upset. Later, he masters those feelings. When he pretends to be mad, as in the scene that Ophelia reports in Act II where he has comes to see her, it is more obviously a put-on job.
