Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister of the UK and the leader of the conservative party. The Soviet press called her "Iron Lady" for her uncompromising leadership policy. As a politician and prime minister, she introduced and implemented her own ideas in politics called "Thatcherism". Some of her unpopular measures that she carried out were the reduction of the power of the trade unions, the harsh and uncompromising privatization, unemployment as a consequence of all that. She strictly refused any requests from possible worker strikes, which would end even after a few months to a year without fulfilling workers requests.
