The tone of this poem is hopeful or some might say impatiently hopeful in the beginning of the poem. As it progresses...the tone becomes very emotional because the author us growing impatient due to lack of education. Now the author involved a loved one and the tone then becomes filled with anger and betrayal because there was no intimacy. Finally, the tone then becomes hpoeless.
