Classical conditioning takes place when a CONDITIONED STIMULUS is continuously matched with an UNCONDITIONED STIMULUS.

It is a process of learning by combining two stimulus, one which has a neutral effect and the one which can produce a biological result. It was studied on dogs by Ivan Pavlov.

Neutral stimulus is the conditioned stimulus and the biological is the unconditioned one.
