How did the colonist react to the news of the Battle of Lexington? Remember, not all colonist wanted independence from Britain.

The colonist reacted to the Battle of Lexington in a quite feared way. Most of the colonist wanted their independence, so they went against British soldiers and it is not known who shot the first bullet. But after awhile, the British fled.
