I believe the answer is: In laboratory settings, people can process and respond to information outside of their awareness.
This proof that on average people do not fully taken advantage of our full cognitive capabilities. Mostly happen because we imposed a personal limitation in what we could and couldn't do before we make a full effort to do them.
