The answer is money. There is no question that money is important for candidate success in Texas. In addition, the Texas constitution was written to avoid the extension of governmental authority and the return of a system of political power that was professed as substitute in contradiction of the interest of the people. Some of the explanations why party politics in Texas varies from that of other southern states are because most other southern states have a factually larger African American inhabitant than Texas.
