When parents drink and/or do drugs, they'll most likely become like their parents because a child looks up to his/her parent. Because this is their role model, they look up to them. Unfortunately, this is what kids usually do if they have this happen in their daily lives. :(

Parents that drink alcohol can have serious abusive and negligent tendencies towards their children, which can cause the child to become extremely fearful of and sadly might even replicate/justify the actions of that parent.
