The result of King Jeroham ignoring the message of Elijah from God brought him suffering and an impending inglorious death. He was warned by Elijah of the stray path that he led his people but he ignored the warning. The punishment that he receive was suffering a disease of the bowels and the people also suffer a plague. He suffered the disease for 2 years before he died.
