Why did charles hamilton houston and thurgood marshall focus on legal fights to gain blacks access to professional and graduate schools?

They were focused on equalizing the facilities in the South, but more focus was on education. They knew that without access to equal facilities there would never be equal possibilities. They needed access to the educational facilities that would give them the same economic possibilities and care for their people.
