Answer: To discuss a better system of government.

The Constitutional Convention of 1787 took place in Philadelphia, from May 25 to September 17. The state delegates met with the intention to revise the league of states and the Articles of Confederation. However, some members, such as James Madison and Alexander Hamilton, wanted to create a whole new government rather than fix the current one. The result of the Convention was the creation of the Constitution of the United States.
