Russia, basically interceded for the benefit of South Ossetia. The contention amongst Georgia and South Ossetia has been continuing for quite a long time. It is incomprehensible to envision that Russia would sit inertly seeing as its major political partner in the South Caucasus was being assaulted by Tbilisi. Th e larger part of the number of inhabitants in South Ossetia, as was likely known to Mr. Saakashvili, is Russian natives and Russia was obliged by its constitution to ensure them with every single accessible mean.
