Asteroids are a huge ball of rocks that orbit around the solar system or the sun (aka the asteroid belt) sometimes asteroids float around in space. When an asteroids is really big they are called Plantoids. They are made out of rocks, metal and other elements. Sometimes the asteroids can become comets when they get really cold.
