First we look for the result of the volume for both:
the smaller:
V1 = (35) ^ 3
V1 = 42875 cm ^ 3
the larger
V1 = (42) ^ 3
V1 = 74088 cm ^ 3
Then, we have to:
V1 / V2 = (42875) / (74088)
V1 / V2 = 0.578703704
Answer:
The ratio of the volume of the smaller to the volumes of the larger is:
V1 / V2 = 0.578703704
