The triangle inequality applies.

a) 10000 < 1000 +10x
.. 1000 < 100 +x
.. 900 < x

b) 1000 < 10000 +10x
.. 100 < 1000 +x
.. -900 < x

c) 10x < 10000 +1000
.. x < 1100

x can be between 900 and 1100
