Jonas is the protagonist. Jonas gets chosen to be the new Receiver for his community when he turns twelve. The story's type of conflict Man v.s. Society. The antagonist is the community/society he lives in. For example, Jonas has to fight against rules and limitations put on by the community he lives in.
