To make each costume, Rachel uses 6 yards of material and 3 yards of trim. Suppose she uses a total of 48 yards of material to make several costumes. How many yards of trim does she use? Write the rule you used to find the number of yards to trim

Rachel used a total of 48 yards of material which is the equivalent to making 8 costumes without trim. Since each costume needs 3 yards of trim you would multiply the trim by the costumes, 3x8, which would be 24 yards of trim.

(48/6)3=24

(f/6)3=t f= total fabric used t=total trim used

48 / 6 = 8 \\ 8 * 3 = 24
