The correct answer should be D: to use military ships to sink German submarines

They were extremely fast and small ships that carried torpedoes and the idea behind them was to get close to the enemy, blast them with torpedoes, and run away. They were really successful at this and they often fought the huge warships or submarines with ease and without any losses.
