How do bacterial use restriction enzymes to protect themselves against viral infections?

Bacteria defend themselves against viral infections by modification of the receptor sites as well as involvement of restriction endonuclease enzymes which acts onviral DNA and not acting on self as the bacterial DNA is methylated.
