Enjambment is incomplete syntax at the end of a line in poetry. it's where a sentence or phrase runs over from one poetic line to the next without an end punctuation at the end of the first line. Example from William Carlos Williams's "Between Walls":
the back wings
of the

hospital where
nothing

will grow lie
cinders

in which shine
the broken

pieces of a green
bottle
