I think the answer is the metabolic rate approximately doubles. This is because most cellular enzymes of the lizard are more active as temperature increase. The reactant in the cell also have a greater thermal energy. Also, when heat increases the kinetic energy of the molecules involved in metabolism also increases and hence a higher metabolism rate.
