I believe the name of that researcher is: Lev Vygotsky
Lev Vygotsky focused his time in studying the theory of Cognitive Development.
According to him, Social interaction played a very important role in language acquisition because individuals tend to associate a meaning on event or objects based on the interaction that they have with other individuals.
