In your own words, describe how the properties of an ocean wave determine the motion of a surfer on the wave?

The surfer will rise and fall with the amplitude of the wave. Also, the surfer will ride along the wave because of the wavelength. Hope this helps.

The height of the waves determine the motion of a surfer on the wave.

Waves typically have a range of heights. If the height of the waves increased, the surfer would rise to a greater height and fall to a lower depth on the waves, and the radius of the circle in which the surfer moves would increase. Same as if the height of the waves decreased, the surfer would rise to a lower height.
