The infants up to six months are characterized by implicit memory that is the formation and retention of memories that is unconscious and helps people do stuff without remembering their previous experience of doing those things. The explicit memory is the memory that begins to manifest in children between six and twelve month and this is the conscious, wilful, recollection of information and experiences.
