Find the smallest zero for the function h(x)= 4x2-8x-60

h(x)=4(x^2-2x-15)=4(x-5)(x+3)
For h(x) to vanish, (x-5)=0 or (x+3)=0
=>
The zeroes are x=5 OR x=-3.
The smaller zero is therefore -3.
