It was the rivers that probably shaped migration routes in Europe. Thus, Rivers are very navigable in Europe that’s why many people have settled along these rivers. Additionally, it is the Alps that have provided a natural barrier and provided a wall between the Italian Peninsula and the rest of Europe.
