The earliest documented evidence lies in the form of fossilized animal remains.

These remains helped the archaeologists and anthropologists discover numerous new things including the existence of paleo indians in the region which lived in a hunter gatherer society as far back as 10 000 years BC. This was way before the currently known tribes of Natives were discovered.
